Last week Peter Vasilion for Family Court Judge highlighted the Northland Workforce Development Center’s programs and the role Northland can play in helping older youth in foster care who have a goal of independent living. Another such program worthy of our spotlight is the Buffalo Employment and Training Center.
BETC provides several services for free including access to job search and job placement assistance, resume writing, and career coaching at its 77 Goodell Street office.
BETC has specialized resources for young adults ages 16 and over. It also has resources for veterans and individuals who are justice system impacted.
With a direct link to the City of Buffalo and Erie County civil service, as well as private employers, youth in foster care have another resource to rise above their circumstances and achieve their goals.
BETC is another wonderful local program that assists our young adults.
